With reference to your letter of the 28th of
January, regarding the special class Passenger Certi-
ficate for foreign going vessels proposed to be issued
by the Government of Hong Kong, I am directed by the
Board of Trade to state, for the information of Mr.
Secretary Amery, that provided the Hong Kong Government
are prepared to put into force all the regulations
regarding the survey of passenger steamers in force
in this country, copies of which were enclosed with
the Board's letter of the 16th April, 1985, and
arrangements are made for a Hong Kong Surveyor to
proceed to the United Kingdom to be trained in the
duties arising out of subdivision of passenger ships
